On Saturday, July 15, Wilfred Burie, President of "The Belgians Remember Them" went to London to participate in the "Belgian Parade" held at the Cenotaph.

This ceremony has been held every year since King George V, when the King of the Belgians Albert I died in 1934, decreed that every year, the Belgian Army could parade in arms in front of the London Cenotaph to honour the memory of the British soldiers who fell during the First World War in Belgium. In a way, this exceptional measure rewarded the support given by the Belgian people to the troops of the British Empire who came to defend our democratic values and to help us drive out the German invader who occupied our country.

Since then, except between 1940 and 1945 and during “Covid years”, the Belgian Army and patriotic associations have been marching in front of the London Cenotaph’s high-profile memorial every second Saturday in July, one week before the Belgian national Day.
