Facts

Lancaster ND587 was and hit intercepted by a german fighter
The plane exploded in flight, over Gallaix on the verge of Maulde, and fragments fell in a field. Bodies will be taken by the Germans, who will give them a grave to Chièvres.
The place will be cleaned, the crater filled but will be needed about twenty years before a harvest is again possible on this ground burned and polluted by the fuel.
